With all the hype about SEO and First Page on Google, you’d think that it is the Meca of marketing for new business. Most business owners tell me that they get at least 7 or 8 calls a week from salesmen wanting to do SEO or with a promise to put them on the first page of Google. First of all there are 15 or 16 businesses on the first page of Google in your category. In addition, it takes a long time to get your website ranked toward the top and Google keeps changing the ground rules.

Then there is Google Adwords where you can pay Google for advertising. While this is a faster method of getting new clients, it can get pretty expensive. You really  need to know what you’re doing to operate in this arena.
